Cardinals

We had the awesome privilege of watching three baby cardinals leaving the nest. A family built a nest in a rose bush outside my parent's back door, and my mom theorizes that they decided the neighborhood wasn't so quiet after all and it was time to move.

As we left for church, Doug and I spotted the parents coaxing them from the nest. When we returned, the three little ones had moved about 10 feet to a crape myrtle where the parents fed and tended to them.

Good mother that she was, she never strayed too far from her babies and even tried to attack the paparazzi through the window.

They eventually flew away though we suspect it just to a tree across the street, a more quiet and less busy spot.
