Rendezvous 2010

During our recent trip, we visited the local Historic Crab Orchard Museum which was hosting a rendezvous, a sort of bike week for the pioneer crowd: camping, fires, deer and bear, games and stories.

There is a beautiful stream, which captivates and challenges the little ones.

But best of all, there were cousins and guns, cabins and lots of open space, a certain recipe for fun.

Never had I seen my kids play so long. Even the one who is prone to bouts of extreme fatigue fought with the other rowdy boys in their quest to capture "the girls."
And Matthew who was the smallest of the big kids, managed to hang with the gang (well, maybe a few steps back).

It goes without saying that everyone rested well that night.
