Locusts Descending

The trouble with having more than 2.1 kids is that it's always a big deal to pop in to visit someone else. So you can just imagine the scene when Doug and I and the boys plus my sister and her brood of four dropped by see our grandmother. Thankfully she has a large yard.

One of my fondest childhood memories involves eating ice cream at Mamaw's. It probably just happened once, but I clearly remember her refilling our sugar cones. That's definitely a way to endear a child.

Of course now that I'm the mom, there's no way I'd knowingly let the grandparents do such a thing, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if they tried.

It's just what grandparents do.
