It's Memorial Day weekend and another edition of the Mountain Man Rendezvous.
While none of the kids actually camped this year, the kids fully participated in the games.
Josie and Doug played Tug-of-War.
There was an old-fashioned ice cream eating contest.
The younger set got to use their hands to hold their bowls (no utensils);
the older kids were completely hands-off.
Matthew got to join in on the watermelon (and I think he bent the rules just a little).
The highlight (of which I have no pictures) was the coin hunt in a bunch of straw. We missed it last year, but the kids never forgot which, in hindsight, is why they finished their lunches so quickly. Jonathan gave up quickly, but the others were treasure seekers, each coming up with handfuls of quarters which they promptly spent in the gift shop on candy and tomahawks.
The rest of the afternoon was spent splashing in the creek and playing with cousins.
