We were reading one of favorites today and came across an illustration of wolves playing croquet.
Stephen asked, "Are they holding sludge-mallets?"

A couple of weeks back we were reading another book and the subject of rhubarb arose, and more specifically whether it is classified as a fruit or a vegetable.
Stephen said, "I thought that's what you put down in concrete to make it stronger."
