"Something Fun"

I saw an ad in the paper earlier this week announcing a Fall Festival at our local water treatment plant and knew immediately that it would be a fun outing for the boys.

Of course, I was really hoping that someone else would have to take them since I would be otherwise indisposed, but that was not the case and we had a fun family outing - all 5 and 9/10 of us! Anyhow, we got to tour the facility and ride a trolley.

There were lots of freebies including balloons, MoonPies, hotdogs, cotton candy, water bottles, stickers, candy, leak detection tablets, and notepads.
My kids always avoid the inflatable jumping toys, but Andrew did attempt the water balloon toss and painted his name on a water pipe that will actually be installed underground. Woo-hoo!

I was hoping that the free hotdogs would suffice for lunch, but I guess I should get used to the fact that these menfolk require more sustenance. I was forced to feed them leftovers that were supposed to be for tonight. Doug's simple solution: "We can just have something else for dinner." Easy enough for you to say.

And for the remainder of the day? Doug informs me that there are three major SEC matchups from 12:30 on so I must do my best to hold off on delivering this child until then. Guess I'll take a nap.

  1. That sounds like a fall festival right up your boys alley. What exactly are "leak detection tablets?" sound interesting. Baby Hamill seems very content in his/her home; I'm sure Eden wishes sometimes that she could go back to the peace and quiet of the womb. Fourth babies live a hard life, but we can't wait to hear about your new little one which is sure to arrive sometime soon. Hang in there!

  2. You are a brave woman! We can't wait to hear some news :). Our 4th was our only 40+ weeks baby and I remember that feeling of waiting and waiting!
