Borrowed Baby

We babysat this guy for the morning and couldn't get enough of the chubby fingers.

Katherine wasn't particularly pleased with the newcomer.  Sure, she gave him some gentle-at-first hugs but he was rightfully wary.

I heard him make a few noises and asked if he liked to sing.  I launched into "Jesus Loves Me" and just as a finished the first verse, Katherine chimed in in a most melodic sing-song voice, "You die now!"

It has been her slogan of late.  Refused request for candy?  "You die now!"  Toy snatched from her grasp?  "You die now!"   Nothing to talk about?  "You die now!"

I suppose it come from having older brothers (although I can't remember them using this actual phrase).  Or maybe it's just a toddler stage akin to the boys' penchant for all things potty.  Hopefully it's a stage she'll grow out of quickly.

Until then, please don't take it to heart.
