Josie has been requesting "doing crafts" often lately, and I realized that we just don't do anything crafty as a group. For a while it was frustration with the boys: they were certainly enthusiastic about the process but cared nothing about keeping said object (actually a lot of the fun was in destroying the craft that we had just labored over). Then for a while it was simply that there were too many little hands messing that it wasn't worth the trouble.
But somehow we got distracted from our lessons the other day making paper dolls and heart chains. The boys were completely fascinated and everyone had to have their own.
This wasn't enough, though.
It's all fun and games until someone gets out the paper cutter.
Stephen then transitioned from craft time to decapitation.
