"Peace on earth; good will toward men."
If you have spent any time at all around Jonathan, you know full well that he can be most delightful and most exasperating...sometimes switching from one to the other in a blink of the eye.
Apparently the dentist received the worst side this morning (they can't say I didn't warn them).
But he was all sweetness in the afternoon and had formulated a plan for a picnic complete with cupcakes and popcorn and games for himself, me and the girls.
He asked every two minutes if he could check to see if Katherine was awake. Finally naptime was done and we could have our picnic.
He carried our feeble plastic picnic table to the front yard and bedecked it with goodies, a deck of UNO cards, and a basket of napkins. He then rolled a plastic barrel (that's on the to-do list for being transformed into a rain barrel) beside the table and brought out a lovely poinsettia for effect.
We played one round of UNO (Josie won) and then it was time to eat. The other boys kept springing out to steal a handful of popcorn or a peppermint, but it was clear that they weren't invited to the festivities. He eventually relented and we all try to toss popcorn and catch it.
Oh, how I love this boy!
