Money Making Schemes

I'm a stickler for routines.  Come 1 o'clock at our house, the boys disappear to the basement (a.k.a. Lego World) and the girls take naps (sometimes this includes me).  I've had the chance on occasion to overhear snippets of their conversations downstairs; sometimes it's complete silliness (boy humor) or all business (searching for various LEGO parts) and other times it's interesting insides on life.

Today it was scheming: scheming to earn money. The boys wanted a lemonade stand.

Jonathan isn't always included in their plans.  For a while the reason was his age; but more often it's his lack of cooperation; and while he is improving (some days are better than others), they still think of him as the meddling three year old.

This time he came up with his own plan.  "I can have Josie dress up and stand by the road and people will pay to see the fashion show."  He quickly dictated a sign for me to make.

It sounded a bit like exploiting a female, but Josie was eager to participate.

Jonathan oversaw the proceeds which totalled a whopping $.25 (I'm not sure if he paid the model).

Stephen and Matthew were a lot more successful, netting $14 for a hour's worth of work.  Not bad.
