Park Play

What a pleasant surprise to wake up to 62 degrees of cool in mid-July.

We headed out for our local elementary school and community park.

The boys had the best time pretending they were being flushed down a toilet and clogging the pipe.

A few weeks ago the whole family made the trek.  We tried to persuade the climbers to scale this chain rope and go over the top, but there were no takers.

They were determined today, however, and Matthew went over first and Stephen followed shortly.

It's not terribly far but we parallel a rather busy road which is a daunting prospect with 5 kids in tow.  I trust the big ones pretty well (and they took their bikes); the girls were in the stroller; it was just Jonathan - the wild card.  So glad we made it there and back without incident.

And extra thankful for the cool temps and open windows in summer.
