Herding the Brood

We accompanied Doug to Nashville yesterday, making a fun pit stop in the town of Bell Buckle (population 457 and home to the annual Moon Pie festival the third weekend of June).

While he was otherwise occupied, my friend Clara and I took the goslings to the zoo (I think we're one short in the picture, though).

It was hot, but everyone had a great time and was well-behaved (even a certain two-year-old who didn't nap).

The highlight, however, was eating in a restaurant. Between the food allergies and the general hassle, it is something we very rarely do as witnessed by the bright-eyed look on the big boys' faces as they anxiously awaited the pizza.

Andrew summed it up, "Momma, I like the fun things that you plan for us to do. The first fun thing was Daddy's idea to get ice cream. And then you had a good idea to go to the zoo. And the third fun thing was to go to a restaurant. We really had a fun day."
