Update on Jo-Nate

This boy has never, ever in his life missed a meal.

He's even been mistakenly fed an extra bottle or two and taken them without blinking an eye.

So I don't quite know how to explain his behavior yesterday short of the catchall "overstimulation."

We complied with "no-feeding-for-three-hours-before-the-appointment" rule and he was perfectly pleasant. He sat in his little padded seat while wearing a ridiculously small hospital gown, and we proceeded with the various combinations of milk & nipples.

He got a few swallows in with (I think) two different options and quit.

No amount of coaxing or cajoling could get him to suck and swallow. He only wanted to play and smile and study the new surroundings.

He was quite charming.

Nevertheless, the team (at least four women dedicated to my sweet boy) decided that he could handle a gradual thinning of feeds over the course of the next 4-6 weeks and then we can repeat the test again (and have a 4 hour fast to make sure he's ravenous) to make sure everything's A-OK.

I think we're on the right track.
