Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde

The changing temperment of a toddler certainly keeps one on one's toes!

I wasn't sure what to expect with the introduction of another sibling but have been pleasantly surprised with Matthew's loving demeanor towards this new creature. All day long it's "I kiss. I kiss!" as he puckers up to that head of hair.

That gentle spirit is quite a contrast to the Matthew who is denied his wish for marshmallows. (He's developed a most nasty habit of dragging me to the closet as soon as I answer the phone, learning from past experiences that Momma is likely to grant his wish so that she can take care of her business in peace).

This was taken after he recovered from the kicking, screaming heap on the floor, and I noticed his black eye.

"What in the world?" I thought while doing a mental inventory of all the mishaps and screams that had occurred in the recent past. Unable to connect any events, I then remembered our craft earlier in the morning and discovered he got a little carried away with the markers.

Maybe he has a future as a makeup artist.
