Weekend Happenings

I survived last week and decided that I have too much invested in these kiddos to return them. Amidst the chaos, we did have fun. Suzy, Craig and Colin, our former neighbors turned jet setters who now make their home in Switzerland returned to the US for a few weeks and dropped by for a visit. The boys spent the morning alternating between eating and playing (mostly with large sticks). Although Andrew was a little disappointed that they had not returned with their entire playroom of toys, he was comforted with a new big rig from Ms. Suzy (THANKS!)

We took advantage of the fall weather over the weekend and took a short trip to Lafayette, GA for the Marsh House Harvest Days. It was a smallish event but there were Civil War cannon demonstrations, a period regimental band and kettle corn.

Matthew doesn't crawl but he can move. Not fast which is good for me, but he somehow manages to move. Sit. Stretch. Swivel. He's also expanded his food horizons to include puffed millet (which looks like small styrofoam balls) and Oatios (a wheat-free Cheerio-type cereal).

The epitome of brotherly love. Sunday afternoon we waded in the creek, threw rocks, and cracked open walnuts; I almost caught a newt but it slipped through my hands (sorry ol' Fink-Nottle).
