My Favorite Traveling Companion

I don't know what I would do without books on tape (okay, really they are cd's). The boys & I stocked up on stories and music at the local library before heading out of town, and it was well worth the effort. Not only was it entertaining for me, but the boys enjoyed it too, and it kept them quiet. On the leg from Chattanooga to Knoxville we started Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. We stopped by a friend's house to play and eat before starting the second half of the trip, and we finished the rest by the time we got to Cedar Bluff (10 hours after leaving the 'Nooga).

The return trip was much better, and we enjoyed listening to Rudyard Kipling's Stories From the Jungle and Little House in the Big Woods. Added to the varied genre's of stories, we also checked out Oh, Veggie Where Art Thou? - quite entertaining!

My unofficial count of "momma" is somewhere in the range of 53 - at least 40 which occurred in a 30 min. span of story-less time. Thank God for cds!!!
