Birthday Bootcamp

As if readying for vacation wasn't insanity enough, I added a birthday party to the mix.

Stephen's birthday collides with Labor Day travels so the party was postponed until friends were back in town and Doug was available to help.

 It just so happened to be the afternoon before we go to the beach.

But it is A-OK!  The Sergeant took charge and whipped his troops into shape.  There were tests of agility and speeds, feats of daring and amazing defensive maneuvers.  There were grenade battles

 

 and the injured were thoroughly bandaged.

And, of course, there was food because all soldiers need nourishment.

Stephen asked me later about my favorite part of the party.  "My favorite?  Watching all those boys happy to be playing together and just being boys."  Noise, mess and all!
