It's always so good to go back home.
There's just something about the last hour of our drive.
The skies were exceptionally beautiful and clear, the hills as comfortable as I remember.
Every turn yielding another picture-perfect scene.
Stephen and Papa built a candy dispenser.
Nana took the older boys on a date to the Barter Theatre.
As a consolation prize, Papa and I took Josie and Jonathan out for ice cream.
Apparently the years have been kind: my high school English teacher recognized me from across the parking lot and we briefly reconnected.
The rest of the week was full of playing and planning and drinking lots of coffee.
It was a wonderful change of pace.
