We had the chance to be with my parents, sister/brother-in-law and lots of cousins over Memorial Day weekend so we went ahead and celebrated Josie's birthday early.
Seeing as there were multiple food issues to work around, we decided on Ice Cream
(besides, it is one of Josie's favorites - "ummy!")
I was so excited to raid my mother's garden for fresh flowers to put in just a few of her vast white vase collection; the beds were brimming with roses and peonies.
The little girls patiently awaited their treats.
The boys filled and refilled their edible bowls!
We almost accidentally left the piñata behind, but it was remembered at the last minute, space was found in the van, and it was transported 300 miles without incident.
Only to be smashed in about a minute. But the kids loved the contents: lots and lots of candy!
And we continued the ice cream theme again on her actual birthday when Doug's parents were around to celebrate with us, too.
A delicious time was had by all!
