It had been a busy morning despite the early morning wake up call by Miss Josie. There was the usual housework and schoolwork and an added paper-mache volcano in the mix. I quickly made lunch and then had approximately 7 minutes in which to make myself presentable before taking two of the kids for well-checks with the ped.
I ran to my room, and having learned from previous experience, locked the door.
While the hair dryer was going, I heard persistent banging on the door. I finally stopped and
yelled asked
, "Is the house on fire?"
Stephen replied,
"No, but you left one of the eyes of the stove on."
Thank you, Stephen, for being ever-so-observant.
